Trade between Iran and China surpasses $17 billion in the first seven months of 2008 according to new figures released by a Chinese report.
The report confirms that the total value of trade between the two countries from January to the end of July 2008 stood at $17.389 billion.
Iran's imports of goods and services from China were valued at $12.746 billion, whilst a further $4.643 billion worth of goods and services were exported from Iran to China.
In July, China's Assistant Foreign Minister, Zhai Jun, predicted that the value of trade between Iran and China will reach a total of $30 billion in 2008. If this proves to be an accurate forecast, it will represent an increase in trade of more than $10 billion in comparison to 2007. |
